As the semester for Fall 2019 looms, I started reflecting on why it can feel like a hurtle to get back into one’s daily cadence. I like the work, love what I’m learning, so why the struggle?
Something that I’ve tried is to start off my days with small, manageable tasks that get my brain slowly into the routine of things. Starting off with a small checklist makes me feel like I’m getting something accomplished, and more geared up to tackle my larger tasks for the day.
A checklist of 3-4 of the most important things for each day can help with motivation as well – it’s a list of well-defined items that can be completed in a day.
